In 1986 Richard gained a National Diploma in Jewellery Design from Bradford College. In 1996 Richard opened Franklyns Jewellers & Goldsmiths Ltd after deciding to leave behind a successful jewellery business partnership and branch out alone.
Primarily a Working Jeweller, Richard built Franklyns on repairing and manufacturing as much as possible on site. In 1997 Richard became a qualified Diamond Grader and gained a certificate from the HRD Institute of Gemmology in Diamond Grading & Identification and the following year in 1998 gained the certificate in Extended Diamond Grading & Identification.
Richard continues to take a very active role alongside the Franklyns Team both in Sales and in the Workshop.
Richards wife Nicky has over 20 years experience in the jewellery industry. With her HRD institute of Gemology qualification in Diamond grading and identification, she is responsible for valuing customer jewellery for insurance purposes. As shop manager Nicky oversees the day to day running of the shop as well stock control and buying.
Since joining the Franklyns Team in 2004 as a sales advisor, Emmajayne has learnt a wealth of knowledge about the trade and in 2005 took a more hands on role and moved positions to become a Working Jeweller in the workshop.
With previous experience in management she progressed and is now the Workshop Manager.
Emmajayne has gained a Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Craft & Design Jewellery and is also a trained and very competent member of our Computer Aided Design Team.
Michelle joined Franklyns in 2008. Having customer service experience gained from working in the travel industry for several years, and previous experience as a Sales Advisor in the Jewellery trade, Michelle has proven to be a great asset to the team.
Whilst being with us Michelle has successfully trained in pearl & bead rethreading and is now our main rethreader.
She is also responsible for all general shop duties, supplier ordering, assisting customers and stock control.
Amy joined Franklyns in 2016 as a part time sales assistant. With previous managerial experience in Retail for designer fashion brands, Amy understands the need for exceptional customer care. Whilst being with us Amy has become knowledgeable on our products and brands and is a great asset to the team. Amy is responsible for stock merchandising and replenishment and most importantly taking care of our customers. She works closely with Sarah to maintain our social media campaigns.
Emily Joined Franklyns in 2015 as our apprentice. With an eye for detail she has gone from strength to strength in the workshop working hard to learn repair and design skills and is a valued member of the team. Having recently completed a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Retail sales professional she continues to support senior management and has improved her customer service skills.
Sarah Joined the team in 2018. She is an asset to the sales team with the knowledge she has gained from working within the jewellery industry for over 8 years. Sarah is responsible for maintaining the social media with her creative flair for photography, she works closely with Amy to provide captivating posts.
